Our Garlic

We are currently growing four different varieties of garlic on our Farm.

All our garlic is 

-Hand planted,

-Hand harvested and 

-Grown without the use of chemicals.

All our garlic products are made using the garlic grown on our farm.

 

 

-Australian Purple 

This is our second year growing this variety and it performed extremely well last year. 

Australian Purple is from the Turban group of garlics. It has a rich garlic flavour, it has quite a hot taste when eaten raw but when roasted gives off a milder and more nutty flavour. The Australian Purple is a short storage garlic which means it will store well for around 5-6 months. The skin of this garlic has purple stripes or blotches and produces an average of 10 cloves per bulb.

 Harvest occurs in Early November and Bulbs are available Early December.

 

-Balmattum Purple

This is our first year growing this variety. Balmattum Purple is from the Turban group of garlics. It has a mild garlic flavour and is perfect in sauces, casseroles and stir frys. The Balmattum Purple is a short storage garlic storing around 6 months. The skin of this garlic is mainly white with purple blotches and produces an average of 10 cloves per bulb 

Harvest occurs in Early November and bulbs are available Mid to Late November.

-Australian White

This is our second year growing this variety. Australian White is from the Articoke group of garlics. It has a mild garlic flavour and can be eaten raw, sauteed, roasted or in stir fry. The Australian White is a medium storage garlic storing around 8 months. The skin of this garlic is white but can have some purple blotching  and produces an average of 10 cloves over 2-3 layers. 

Harvest occurs in Early December and bulbs are available Mid to Late January

 

-FEstival Creole

This is our first year growing this variety and we are slowly building up our supply. Festival is from the Creole group of garlics. It has a hot spicy flavour raw but when cooked is much milder. The Festival Creole is a long storage garlic and can store for up to 12 months. The skin of this garlic is white and  this garlic produces an average of 10 purple skinned cloves . 

Harvest occurs in Mid December and bulbs are available Late January.
