Our Garlic

We are currently growing four different varieties of garlic on our Farm.

All our garlic is 

-Hand planted,

-Hand harvested and 

-Grown without the use of chemicals.

All our garlic products are made using the garlic grown on our farm.

 

 

-Australian Purple 

This is our second year growing this variety and it performed extremely well last year. 

Australian Purple is from the Turban group of garlics. It has a rich garlic flavour, it has quite a hot taste when eaten raw but when roasted gives off a milder and more nutty flavour. The Australian Purple is a short storage garlic which means it will store well for around 5-6 months. The skin of this garlic has purple stripes or blotches and produces an average of 10 cloves per bulb.

 Harvest occurs in Early November and Bulbs are available Early December.

 

-Italian Late

This is our third year growing this variety. Italian Late is from the Articoke group of garlics. It has a hot and rich garlic flavour but can be eaten raw, sauteed, roasted or in stir fry. The Italian Late is a medium storage garlic storing around 8 months. The skin of this garlic is mainly white but can have some purple blotching  and produces an average of 13 cloves over 2-3 layers. 

Harvest occurs in Early December and bulbs are available Mid to Late January.

-Australian White

This is our first year growing this variety. Australian White is from the Articoke group of garlics. It has a mild garlic flavour and can be eaten raw, sauteed, roasted or in stir fry. The Australian White is a medium storage garlic storing around 8 months. The skin of this garlic is white but can have some purple blotching  and produces an average of 10 cloves over 2-3 layers. 

Harvest occurs in Early December and bulbs are available Mid to Late January

 

-Spanish Roja

This is our third year growing this variety and we are slowly building up our supply. Spanish Roja is from the Creole group of garlics. It has a hot spicy flavour raw but when cooked is much milder. The Spanish Roja is a long storage garlic and can store for up to 12 months. The skin of this garlic is white and  this garlic produces an average of 10 purple skinned cloves . 

Harvest occurs in Mid December and bulbs are available Late January.
